HPAC is a consortium of experts in health professions education who undertake consultancies in a number of areas, especially assessment and examinations at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
We provide high-quality courses on all aspects of assessment in health professions education, as well as consultancy, tailored faculty development and research services.
We have a range of consultants who are engaged according to the services required. All our consultants have established track records of teaching, consultancy and research in a wide range of health professions education areas.
Our Workplace Based Assessment & Portfolios course is designed for health professions educators who are involved in designing, implementing, and managing workplace assessment both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
It is suitable for educators new to WBA, as well for experienced educators who would like to be updated on the latest theory and best practice in this area.

Our OSCE Masterclass has been specially designed for health professions educators who want to acquire a thorough grounding in the theory, design, delivery and quality assurance of OSCEs (Objective Structured Clinical Examinations). It is relevant for undergraduate and postgraduate situations.
The tutors have extensive experience in the design and quality assurance of OSCEs in medicine, dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine and nursing.

This course is designed for health professional educators who want a comprehensive introduction to evidence-based assessment principles, and also for experienced educators who would like an update on contemporary best practice in assessment.

This self-directed learning course is designed for healthcare professions educators who want to learn about and improve their skills in writing and reviewing SBAs (Single Best Answer items). It is suitable not only for beginners but also experienced item writers who want to expand their skills in writing in more ‘difficult’ areas. The faculty have over 25 years of item writing expertise, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as for numerous healthcare licensing bodies, in the UK, Australia and internationally.
