Assessment quality sits at the heart of the successful OSCE . With advances in our understanding of OSCE standard setting, are our current approaches still best practice? Which OSCE ‘metrics’ are useful to improving test quality? How should we interpret these?
This highly interactive workshop will begin with an overview of OSCE standard setting approaches, drawing on the latest evidence around benefits/limitations or application in non-typical learner cohorts. Using a series of highly practical ‘live’ exercises, participants will gain confidence in both the interpretation of common whole exam and station level test metrics and be encouraged to link this with activities to improve OSCE delivery, station design, scoring and assessor training/support.
