The goal of this session is to familiarize the participants with workplace-based assessment. It will describe some of the methods currently being used, highlight the importance of formative assessment in learning, review pertinent research on the methods, and present some of the considerations in their implementation. Active participation will be encouraged throughout, and small group activities will focus on developing a system of assessment for communications skills.
