Sylvia Heeneman is a Professor of Health Professions Education at the Faculty ofHealth, Medicine and Life Sciences (FHML), School of Health ProfessionsEducation (SHE), Maastricht University, Maastricht, The Netherlands. Her current research interests in the health professions education field are(programmatic) assessment in undergraduate and post-graduate medical education, professional performance, portfolio and mentoring. She has supervised and is supervising various PhD candidates (within the Netherlands and international)in these topics. Within Maastricht University, she is the program director of the Bachelor of Medicine and the Chair of the Board of Examiners of the Bachelor of Brain Sciences (Faculty Psychology). In addition, she is involved in faculty development/ education in under- and postgraduate medical education (feedback and assessment) and gives workshops worldwide to educate and assist professionals in the use of programmatic assessment and mentoring in their courses and programmes.
